Hand crafted jewelry collection selected as showcase prizes for famed game show.
NETWORK AIR DATE—WEDNESDAY MARCH 27 on CBS
Asheville, North Carolina—February 12, 2013—Molly Dingledine Jewelry. Trend spotting and innovation may be key to the longevity of iconic American television series The Price Is Right—now 41 years young. Case in point, the show’s recent selection of original jewelry by Molly Dingledine as a prize for their “Showcase Showdown.”
Though the pairing of The Price Is Right and Molly Dingledine Jewelry might seem unconventional, it is an honest (and timely!) reflection of the shift happening in jewelry today. Artisanal products of all kinds have become highly desirable to many American shoppers who see the value of limited edition, handmade, and sustainable goods. Simply look to the food and beverage industry to see America’s growing appetite for products crafted with specialized skills by real people. Molly Dingledine’s true and intimate connection with making jewelry exemplifies this profile.
Having my jewelry selected for The Price is Right is a thrilling and meaningful honor. What a great way to inform viewers about small craft businesses and to cultivate new interest in distinctive American-made products. Creative entrepreneurship is essential to a healthy economy, and the more people see skillful independent labor, the more they will value and support it. Molly Dingledine
With genuine creative passion, Molly designs each collection independently and creates each piece of jewelry by hand in her studio. She then travels extensively, showing and selling her lines directly to the public and to retailers. The personal bonds and loyal following she has cultivated along the way are the heart of Molly’s business.
In the words of Carmela DiLeva of the Secret Life of Jewelry, “Molly creates a visually stunning display of richness and complexity. Every piece is delightful.” The jewelry selected for The Price is Right is made from oxidized sterling silver and cultured freshwater pearls. Each component is individually cut, hammered, formed, and fabricated by the artist.
So, mark your calendars and program your DVRs now so you won’t miss a very elegant (and enlightened!) “Showcase Showdown” on The Price is Right Wednesday, March 27 on CBS.
