About Molly
For as long as I can remember I have been making things. As a child I built structures with legos, hand stitched miniature pillows, and threaded beads into necklaces. Collections of seashells, rocks, and seed pods kept me exploring outside while fostering my curiosity for intricate natural forms.
I knew I would grow up to be a maker, and my expression now is through jewelry forms. I still love to study plants—how they grow and how each component connects to create a perfect structure. I build upon the simple shapes of leaves and petals and create three-dimensional forms. The jewelry I design is my interpretation of a natural form or merely the outcome of experimenting with different ways of assembling my simple, organic shapes. Sometimes I see the piece of jewelry in my mind’s eye and then determine the process to create it. Other times the finished piece of jewelry comes to fruition from playing around with the silver pieces and various ways of forming and assembling them.
Since graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005, I have made thousands of pieces of jewelry in my Asheville studio. When I’m not in my jewelry studio, you can find me cooking and sharing food with family and friends, tending to my houseplants and garden, doing philanthropic work in Uganda, and exploring trails with my husband and dog in the mountains of Western NC.
My mission is to create pieces of jewelry that will be loved for a lifetime and adored by the people who wear them. I hope the whimsical and lively designs bring a sense of joy. Finally, I strive to cultivate a positive impact through the work I do.
